Jazz dance is a dynamic and versatile genre influenced by popular music, encompassing styles such as Broadway, funk, and lyrical. ​ At LivDance, students follow the internationally recognised Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) syllabus Jazzaddict. This engaging syllabus provides each student with solid technical training, performance training, and the platform to create, achieve and grow as a dancer & artist. This syllabus not only covers core jazz techniques but also encourages students to explore their artistic expression and individuality through dance.

​ Students work towards sitting a mid-year exam, and then in terms 3 and 4, they prepare an item for our annual show. Throughout the year, students will dive into key jazz techniques such as isolations, turns, kicks, footwork, and musicality—developing a strong connection between movement and music. As they progress, they will refine their coordination and weight transference, helping them move fluidly and with control. Classes will also place a strong emphasis on body alignment, understanding and control, improving dancers' overall technique and preventing injury.

In addition to technical skills, students will enhance their balance, posture, rhythm, and timing, building a keen awareness of how their bodies move through space. Through consistent practice, students gain not only physical skills but also confidence, learning to trust their abilities and shine on stage
